The Company
Transiteatret-Bergen works under the artistic direction of director and musician Tore Vagn Lid with the development of a contemporary and critical theatre in the intersection area between theatre and music. Based on the fundamental criterion of a consistent theatre-music synthesis – or what has been called “the music in the theatre and the theatre in the music” – the ensemble has carried out a series of scenic experiments in and outside Norway. The activities of the ensemble have during the past few years been centred around concepts written and developed by Tore Vagn Lid. In his works, like Opus 1. Anatomy of Power (2001) and Walk Cat, Walk! (2002), the music is not just understood as an acoustical dimension, but is also structuring the dramaturgy as a whole.

Das Ensemble
Transiteatret-Bergen wurde 1998 gegründet und steht seitdem für zeitgenössisches und kritisches Theater. Die bisherigen Stücke bewegen sich im Grenzbereich von Theater und Musik. Mit seinen szenischen Experimenten nähert sich Tt-B einer Synthese dieser unterschiedlichen Kunstformen. Tore Vagn Lid - Künstlerischer Leiter, Regisseur und Musiker - arbeitet theoretisch wie praktisch mit dem Konzept des musikalisierten Theaters. In seiner Inszenierungen – wie z.B. Opus 1. Anathomie der Macht (2001) oder Walk Cat, Walk! (2002) werden die Musik nicht nur als akustisches Element sondern auch als dramaturgisches Prinzip der Inszenierung verstanden.
